Loopy Photo Cart

Photos and stickers on a 1995 game console

The Casio Loopy is a Japanese game console from 1995 with a sticker printer built right into it. Loopy Photo Cart turns your own photos into a Loopy cartridge ROM, so that you can browse them on the TV and print any of them as stickers.

Making the cartridge happens on the website: add up to 54 photos, adjust cropping, and then press Build ROM. The preview shows what the Loopy will display on TV, how the image will look on a sticker. Everything runs in your web browser, so your photos are never uploaded anywhere.

On the Loopy, the photos show up as pages of thumbnails. Open any of them full screen, and then press Start to print it. A couple of delightful tunes play in the background while you browse. 😊

The ROM works with the Floopy Drive on real hardware, and in emulators like LoopyMSE and MAME. The cartridge program is written in C for the Loopy’s SH-1 processor, and the website is written in TypeScript.
